Accounts → Payment Modes. Each mode (Cash, UPI, Card, Cheque…) posts the money into an account. Create your bank account once so UPI / cheque money goes into the bank.

Posts Into
What to enter: Shows where the money of each mode goes.
Why: “(auto)” = your first bank account. “Cash (no bank account yet)” = create a bank account first.

What to enter: Add another mode, for example “Paytm” or a second bank.
Why: Each mode can post into a different bank.

What to enter: Select a mode and click Edit to choose its bank account or require a reference number.
Why: UPI and cheque usually need a reference number.
